Marrow Bones


  • 1-2 lbs marrow bones
  • 8 c filtered water
  • 1 lb carrots
  • olive oil
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Preheat oven to 400°

Roast the bones for 30 minutes at 400° in a casserole dish or pyrex dish with bottom coated in olive oil.

Transfer the bones to a pot, add carrots and a splash of apple cider vinegar (it helps leach minerals from bones into broth) and cover with 8 c filtered water.

Simmer for four hours.

Remove bones and carrots from water and cool before giving to your dog. You can also remove marrow from bones with a butter knife and tapping the top of a bone and it will fall out so long as the bone is still warm.
